  • Using the simple Snuggle Baby hat Size Chart for The Simple Snuggle Crochet Baby Hat.

NOTE: just remember to ADD on extra for a turn up if you are making this bigger!

Chain Length—The Foundation of Your Hat

  • For the newborn size, begin by chaining until you reach the desired height (see the chart above). (These measurements include your turnup!
  • For larger sizes, simply adjust the chain length accordingly.
  • Remember, the hat pattern itself stays the same; you’re just adjusting the starting chain to achieve the correct size.

Working in Rows – Building the Hat

  • This hat features a beautiful ribbed brim. These stitches are worked in the back loops of the single crochet stitches.
  • The body of the hat uses single crochet,
  • Slip stitches at the top reduce bulk. at the TOP of the baby hat reduces the bulk at the top.
  • **Always Turn your work, and then work and Continue working in rows, continuing until you reach the desired hat Circumference = WIDTH
  • Maintain the same stitch count in each row.
  • The slip stitches should be worked loosely, and using a stitch marker can help you identify the first and last stitches of each row.

How to finish the baby hat

  • Once you’ve reached the correct fold WIDTH (Circumference)
  • FOLD the hat piece into a tube and whip stitch or slip stitch the sides together. This forms the basic body of the hat.
