Over the Years I have used my crochet rose patterns to make beautiful gifts for Valentine’s day and to sell crocheted Rose flowers for markets

I was asked by someone if I could create a crochet pattern for the classic realistic red rose crochet flowers in Red Plush Yarn! to make it BIG!

I had some Jellybean Cygnet yarn left over from Christmas Decorations I have made and decided to attempt a BIG PLUSH red rose! But the roses can be made in any color variations.

This Crocheted Rose pattern is designed with a structured approach in really step simple steps, making it easy to follow for beginners while achieving a realistic and elegant crochet rose design.

How to Crochet Rose Step By Step

Notes on crocheting the ROSE

  • Follow the stitch counts carefully to maintain the correct shape.
  • The pattern is written using US crochet terminology.
  • Use stitch markers to track rounds where necessary.
  • Floral wire helps provide structure and a realistic shape to the leaves.
  • Petal positioning can be adjusted to create a more open or more closed rose for a more customized look.
  • The rose Petals will want to curl in on themselves; that ok, as we will be rolling them around each other to complete the crochet rose
  • Always work the first sts into the BASE of the chain

How to assemble the parts to Make the Rose

NOTES:

  • when attaching the petal, I apply glue to the bottom half of the petal andfrom halfway down to the bottom of the petal
  • The next petal will start exaclty HALFWAY of the preceding petal, so as to start staggering the layering of the petals

Gather the Glue gun and stick (dowl)
Place glue half way down Wrap the first leaf you made around the wooden stitck not too tightly Apply hot-melt adhesive to hold it in place.
Layer the petals, starting with the flower core, then the small petals, middle petals, and finally the larger petals.

Arrange them carefully to create a natural rose shape, securing each layer with adhesive.

Attach the SEPAL by pushing the bottom end of the wooden dowl through the middle of the SEPAL, Glue to Position

with GREEN yarn Start to wrap green yarn around the wooden dowl from the bottom and ROSE at the sepal.

Continue wrapping the rod while attaching the leaves.

Apply adhesive as needed to ensure durability. And once finished, fan out the rose petals to create the iconic red rose.

This plush crochet rose pattern creates a stunning floral piece, perfect for gifts, decorations, or embellishments.

The combination of chunky Cygnet Jellybaby Chunky Chenille yarn and a structured design results in a beautifully textured, long-lasting flower.
