To Start you will make a chain of 4 and make the FIRST round into the FIRST chain you made.
Chain will NOT count as a stitch, you will slip to join at end of each round First HDC will be made into the BASE of the Chain at start.
At the END of Rnd 4 Measure the crown diameter HERE – and should be approx. 4.5 inches
BABY HAT CROCHET PATTERN
Rnd 1: Ch4, work 11 HDC Into the first chain, slst to join. (10sts)
Rnd 2: Ch3, work 2HDC into the same stitch , Repeat around (20sts)
Rnd 3: Ch3, 2 HDC, into the BASE of the Chain, *HDC into the next st, 2HDC into the Next st* repeat * to * around, (30sts)
Rnd 4: Ch3, 2 HDC, into the BASE of the Chain, *HDC into the next 2 sts, 2HDC into the Next st* repeat * to * around, (40sts – will measure 4.5 inches across the circle)
Rnd 5: Ch3, HDC into each stitch around (40sts)
