- Use the SAME weight of yarn (same as your pumpkin stack base) (If making really SMALL pumpkins, then I suggest simply making a chain length and gluing onto position.
- Black, white, and orange yarn scraps for features
- Crochet hook (size to match yarn weight)
- Yarn needle, scissors, stitch markers, and a straight knitting needle if you are stacking the pumpkins to help thread yarn through all 3

Pumpkin hat: Crochet Witch Hat to sit on top of the pumpkins
How the Witch Hat is Crocheted
The witch hat is worked in one continuous piece from the tip down using chunky chenille yarn.
Shaping the cone by placing two increases in every round, spaced evenly apart so the point grows evenly.
The cone gradually widens until it reaches the desired size.TO check When to STOP INCREACING AND Check the fit for the hat for each size of Pumpkin (if making for the different sizes)
- measure against the circumference of the hat as you crochet and stop the increasing when it sits neatly on top of your pumpkin. And continue to adding the BRIM.
- BRIM is then added by working 2 sc in each stitch in the front loops around so the brim flares outward, giving the hat its classic witchy shape.
Hook: 6.5–7 mm Yarn: Chunky chenille – (OR A SAME AS you crocheted the PUMPKINS)
Stitches used:
sc = single crochet,
inc = 2sc in same stitch
- Work in continuous rounds. Use a marker. An easy way to make this is just to increase by 2 sts per round, but do not stack the increases on top of each other, as this creates a point in the bottom of the hat and will not sit right
