Tips & recommendations for Crafting Your Candy Corn Windspinner
- Choosing the Right Yarn: For a Halloween candy crochet wind spinner that stands out, select bright and vibrant shades of yellow, orange, and white yarn or colors of your choice.
- Acrylic yarn is a good choice for durability, especially if you plan to hang your wind spinner outdoors.
- Customizing Your Windspinner: While the traditional candy corn colors are classic, donโt hesitate to get creative! Consider using a variety of different colours, and pastel shades for a softer look, or add some sparkle with glittery yarn to make your windspinner shimmer in the sunlight.
- Perfect Placement: To get the most out of your candy corn wind spinner, hang it where it can catch the breeze, such as on a porch, in a garden, or near a window. This will ensure that it twirls and spins, adding dynamic movement to your Halloween decor.
- Crafting with Kids: This simple and fun pattern is a great project to do with children. They can help with color selection, measuring yarn, or even working on basic stitches if theyโre learning to crochet.
- Make It a Set: Consider crafting multiple windspinners in different sizes to create a festive display. You could also pair your candy corn wind spinner with our other Halloween-themed crochet patterns, like ghosts or pumpkins, to create a cohesive and spooky decor theme.
Materials:
I used Double knit yarn 3.5mm hook or a 4.00mm crochet hook. You can use different hook sizes however If you do use others ensure you use a corresponding crochet hook size for the yarn)
You can use any type or different weight yarns however, I find the thicker weight yarn does not spin well.
I have found Double knit yarn is the best yarn for a wind spinner and works best or you can use similar weight yarns, but no thicker than a DK)
Scissors Yarn needle fishing swivel hooks (Preferably Double Swivel hooks )

Assembly and Hanging your Spiral wind spinner and How to fix a wind spinner that won’t spin
Once your wind spinner is crocheted you will fasten off all ends.
TO make it spin Connect a double fishing swivel to the TOP of your wind spinner and add a length of yarn to the top of the swivel. This will be simply tied to a branch or a curtain pole
Adding Decorations and/or bead will help to keep center your wind spinner as it spins. Add the charm by using a swivel too as this ensures spinnability!
