Small Crochet Chicken Keyring Pattern

This adorable and easy small crochet chicken keyring pattern is free and is a quick and delightful crochet project perfect for a keychain, bag charm, front mirror hagning decoration.
With just a small amount of yarn and basic stitches, you can create a tiny crochet chicken that adds a fun touch to your accessories.

Following the easy chicken pattern you can make it in 2 sizes.

I made a hanging car chicken by simply adding some yarn through the bottom of the neck to hang from the visor of the car! (PLEASE CHECK your State /country’s LAWS about hanging decorations, )
I crocheted the second size of chicken for a friend who wanted a small emotional support chicken for their office!
Change the finished size of the cute crochet chicken Ornament by swapping up yarn and hook sizes and adding a few extra rows, like I did BELOW.

This mini free crochet chicken pattern is beginner-friendly, using basic shaping techniques to create a round and chubby chicken design.

Abbreviations used (US TERMS)
- sc – single crochet
- 2sc – 2 single crochet in 1 stitch
- hdc – Half double crochet
- slst – slip stitch
I used a 5.50mm hook and Cygnet Scrumpilitious( Super Chunky) AND i have made them smaller using FLutterby James C Brett (CHUNKY). You can change the sizes of the chicken simply by using thicker yarn and a bigger hook
Main colour of chicken
Rnd 1: ch2 work 8 sc into the first chain from hook (8)
Rnd 2: 2sc in each stitch around (16)
Rnd 3: *sc in nxt st , 2sc in next st (inc)* Repeat around (24sts)
(FOR NEXT SIZE UP MAKE To RND 8 and finish are below)
Rnd 4 to Rnd 6: sc in each stitch around (24sts)
**in the NEXT st WORK 2 HDC, slst back into same stitch (TAIL)
DO NOT FASTEN OFF
FOLD the work in HALF with the TAIL stitch at one end, JOIN SEAMS together by slip stitching along joining both sides
SLIP STITCH along for 7 sts, STOP, place eyes evenly spaced on each side of chicken around 4 sts apart.
Add a little bit more stuffing, and. SINGLE crochet around the remaining stitches creating the HEAD, Slip stitch to join to the FIRST single crochet over the back.
Fasten off Leang a good length to finish. STUFF firmly INTO SHAPE .
IN RED for the Comb
Join new RED yarn at the top front of the chickens head.
Working all in the same stitch *HDC, Sl sts* twice and fasten off and weave in ends.
Attach the Keyring to the bottom of the neck across back of your adorable amigurumi chicken
