I’ve been overwhelmed by requests from friends and customers to create a few of these for the skiers this season!

The Granny Square Balaclava makes an excellent, cozy, and warm balaclava-type ski hood just the perfect headware over your helmet for the slopes.

I considered lining it with fleece, but surprisingly, the balaclava itself is incredibly warm. You can wear the hood up or pull it down to create a beautiful Granny Square cowl Plus, the size of the Granny Squares can be easily adjusted to fit over ski helmets.

One customer asked for a bright and colorful ‘you-can’t-miss-me-on-the-ski-slopes’ Granny Square hooded cowl Balaclava that also functions as a ski mask and partial face covering.

I love adding a bit of fun to my crochet projects, so I set out to design something that could be a Balaclava-style hood with a colorful face cover, perfect for skiers.

Introducing the Granny Square Balaclava! I would definitely wear this while skiing—it’s so cool and stylish, and my husband would spot me instantly!
