Free crochet pattern to make crochet laurel leaves and small flowers as part of the Winter Olympics crochet flower bouquet.

The laurel was added to the Olympic crochet bouquet for 2022 in their effort to be more green, and not use fresh flowers as traditionally used in the winning bouquets.
It’s inclusion and reference to the flower bouquet meaning Victory.
I have also created free crochet patterns for the other crochet flowers included in the Olympic bouquet

Crochet Red rose

Crochet Hydrangea

These laurel leaves can be crocheted with 2 different colours a lighter green for the stem and slightly darker leaf colour.

I found a picture online for laurel and liked it with the leaves and little flower blossom.
so I created the Laurel leaves and flowers to be the same, it seems the Olympic bouquet has more jagged edges on its leaves, you could add a round of picots if you wish.
For this pattern, I am referencing this picture of Laural leaves and flowers

I threaded small length of wire through each flower. And tied off the 2 ends of the flower threading each one through to right side of flower and cut leaving a small amount showing as the flower buds
These are Twisted and joined in 4s to the leafs stem.
Alternating their placements as shown in the main picture.

This crochet rose resembles the Chinese tea rose that is also included in the crochet flower bouquet
