Row 4: Ch 1,2 sc in first st, sc in each st across with 2 sc in last st, turn. (13)

Row 5:Ch1, 2 sc in first st, sc in each st across with 2 sc in last st, turn. (15)

Row 6: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc in each st across with 2 sc in last st, turn. (17)

Row 7: Ch1, sc in each st across, turn (17) 

Row 8:  Ch1, sc in each st across, turn (17) 

 Row 9: Ch1, sc in each st across, turn (17) 

Row 10: Ch 1, sc in first st into the base of ch1, Skip next st sc in each stitch until last 2, skip next st, sc in last st, turn. (15)

Row 11: Ch 1, 2sctog, sc in each st across to last 2 sts, 2sctog, turn. (13)

Row 12: Ch 1, 2sctog, (2times) , sc in next 5 sts, (2sctog) 2 times, turn. (9)

Row 13: Ch 1, (2sctog),2 times  sc in next st, (2sctog ) 2 times, turn. (5)

Rnd14: Ch1, skip 1 st, sc in next st, hdc, dc in next, hdc in next, slst into the middle st, hdc, dc in next st, hdc in next sc in next slst to finish. Fasten off

 SKIP THIS STEP IF Making a Pumpkin Garland:

For the stem, join green with sl st into slst of pumpkin in the middle of the last row

ch8, slstich into same space, Ch8 slst into same space and fasten off. (SEE TOP image for example)

How to make a Simple Crochet Pumpkin Garland

  1. Make Multiple Pumpkins: Follow the free crochet pumpkin pattern above and create as many pumpkins as you’d like. Vary the shades of orange for added interest. (I made 5)
  2. Create the Garland Stringand Attach Pumpkins as you GO
    • Chain 40 in GREEN, holding the pumpkin to the chain slip stitch pulling through your yarn to join together,
    • Pumpkin stem: *chain 8, slst back into the same space as step before, Chain 8, slip stitch back into the Same space as BEFORE.* and Repeat along from * to * until ALL of your pumpkins are attached and have stems
    • Option 2: or you can use a sturdy ribbon or thin rope and attach pumpkins to it.
  3. Adding the Faces – You can either cut out some Black card like I did or you can sew the features on with black yarn, or leave blank
  4. Hang and Enjoy: Drape your garland on your mantle, across a window, or on a wall to celebrate the season.

If it is DRY outside we put our pumpkin garland and our Halloween Pumpkin wind spinners out at the front so the children see was are open for Trick or treating.
