Whether you’re new to crochet or an experienced maker looking for a quick, satisfying project, this neck warmer is perfect for you.
The Neck warmer is made using basic crochet stitches, it features a chic folded front and a comfy roll neck, making it the ultimate cozy accessory you’ll want to wear all winter long.
I love creating crochet patterns with beginners in mind, and just because you’re a beginner doesn’t mean you can’t create beautiful, handmade items.
This neck warmer is a great example—it uses only the single crochet stitch worked in the back loops, making it an easy and satisfying project that looks impressive with minimal effort.
I made a set as a gift and also crocheted the beginner-friendly beanie with a FREE Crochet Pattern HERE
Why You’ll Love This Neckwarmer Pattern:
- Beginner-Friendly Crochet Pattern: Although this looks difficult to crochet, it uses only basic single crochet stitches worked into the back loops to create the ribbed knit look effect.
- Quick to Make: Finish this project in just a couple of hours.
- Crochet Gift Idea: the neck warmer makes the most thoughtful gift for those who feel the cold
- Stylish & Practical: Keep warm while looking chic.
Can I use a different stitch to crochet the neckwarmer?
Absolutely! While this pattern uses single crochet, you can experiment with other stitches, like half-double crochet or double crochet, for a different texture.
What type of yarn works best for a
A medium-weight yarn (like worsted /Aran weight) works wonderfully.
Opt for soft, cozy fibres like acrylic, wool, or a blend. Just make sure your hook size is complimentary to the yarn (usually you can find this information on the Yarn label
How do I make the neckwarmer larger or smaller?
To adjust the size, simply add more starting chain stitches for width and crochet additional rows for length.
The neck warmer has to fit around your head, neck, and shoulders to be a comfortable fit. (mine was nearly 60 inches LONG)
Tips for Beginners:
- If you’re new to crocheting in the back loop, practice on a swatch first.
- Count your stitches at the end of each row to avoid unintentional increases or decreases.
- Choose a yarn color you love—this neckwarmer will be your go-to winter accessory or when your looking for something to crochet for a gift!
Pattern Notes:
- The neck warmer is worked flat and then seamed to form a loop.
- Keep your tension consistent for a neat finish.
- Adjust the width and length for a custom fit by adding or reducing stitches and rows.
Materials Needed:
- Yarn: I used Hobbi Aran weight yarn It comes in 400grm balls and I LOVE it
- Hook: 6.50mm
- Notions: scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends.
