Abbreviations Used in the Pattern are written in US TEMS
sc – single crochet
sts – stitch (stitches)
slst – slst to join (you will slst to JOIN UNTIL you are told not to)
3sc in one stitch – work 3 single crochet into the 1 stitch as specified increase by 2sts
Notes on the Gear Stick Hoodies Construction:
There is no gauge! However, note that the models of gearsticks will change with the model of the car!
I used a small amount of orange yarn and a 4.500mm hook (I do crochet loosely so you may find you have to go UP a hook size)
So, if you can measure the gear stick for your specific car, even better.
However, these fit both my husband’s jeep and our VW campervan AND my daughter’s VW beetle gear stick.
The Hoodie is worked from the NECK down, you will fold the piece in half and create 2 holes these become the ARMHOLES, which you will return to late to crochet the sleeves on the skipped stitches of the sweater’s armholes.
Materials you require to make the hoodie
I used a Double Knit yarn and a 4.00mm crochet hook

FASTEN OFF and weave in ALL ends neatly.

HOw to Crochet the SLEEVES for the Hoodie

Rnd2: to Rnd 9: sc in each st around, (9sts)
Rnd 10 & Rnd 11: slst in the Back Loops of each st. Fasten off (9sts)
FRONT POCKET
How to find the position of the front pocket

Find the MIDDLE stitch of the FRONT of the Hoodie on the LAST single crochet row before the slst ribbing
count 4 stitches either way from that st (9sts)
(Place markers in the FRONT LOOPS of the First Row of slip stitches of ribbing, you will be working in single crochet back and forth, making 1 LESS sc in each ROW, by skipping working in the Base of the chain)
Row 1: Attach yarn to lower MIDDLE 9 sts right front of jacket and working from left to right around the jacket front and the hood, ch1 (not a st from now on), then sc in each stitch around skipping the first stitch in each ROW. TURN
Row 2 to Row 4: skip 1st st, sc in each st, TURN (Until 5sts Remaining)
Fasten off Leaving a long tail. SEW these 5 stitches to the main part of the HOODIE.
Finishing off the pocket – Taking BLACK yarn and thread through the sides and along the top of the pocket

Hood
Join yarn in the CENTER front of Row 1 of the HOODIE.
ROW 1: Working along the neckline created by ROW 1, sc in EACH t around the whole neck line. DO NOT JOIN, TURN,
ROW 2: Ch1 and work sc in each stitch along. TURN.
ROW 3 to ROW 16: Ch1 and work sc in each stitch along. TURN.
Fasten off, fold the start of the row to the end of rows stitches, and SEW this seam together. I like to sew the outside loops together for a seamless join.
Trim โ take the FIRST stitch of each ROW, fold back, and sew to the main hood part (then, take BLACK yarn lightly stitch with BLACK yarn the Hoodies Ties through this folded-over seam.
Leave 2 small lengths of yarn at each side, and knot at the end to stop fraying to complete the Strings for the hood.
