It’s ideal for gifting, market prep, or just keeping yourself toasty on cold days.

It’s a classic winter make that never disappoints great for brisk walks, chilly school runs when you have just flung your hair up into a messy bun.

This simple design works up fast and features the camel stitch for that sleek, warm, knit-style vibe.

Why You’ll Love It:

Sizes to fit adult small through large are included, and the stretch factor means a comfortable, secure fit.

  • Keeps your ears snug and warm without the bulk of a full hat.
  • Unlike many other headbands and ear warmers that are bulky at the base of the head. The slip stitches at the back of the headband means its sits perfectly.
  • The unique camel stitch gives a neat, textured finish that looks like knitting but crochets in a fraction of the time.
  • Designed for easy construction in the round, no sewing together, just weaving in ends.

How to crochet the Camel Stitch Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Yarn over and insert hook into the 3rd hidden loop at BACK of work (see image).
  2. Yarn over, draw up a loop.
  3. Yarn over again, and draw through all three loops on the hook.

FREE Crochet Ear warmer Pattern Instructions written:

Rnds 1: Ch 65, (or chain the length needed for your size, unstretched), join to form a loop (ensure chain is not twisted). Slip st into next 10 chain stitches (working into the back bumps), then work remaining sts in hdc into each of the back bumps of the starting chain.

Rnds 2 to Rnds 10: (or until you feel it’s wide enough to cover ears and forehead comfortably). Slip into the back loop of the previous round’s slip stitches, then work camel stitch into each stitch around to market.

Last Round: Slip st into back loop of first 10 stitches, then BL sl st + HDC in each stitch around. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Tips & Variations:

  • Want a narrower band? Stop at Round 8 instead of 10.
  • Use a chunkier yarn/hook combo for a super thick warm version.
  • For a more fitted look for men or teens, shorten starting chain by 1 inch (approx 4 cm) and reduce rounds to 8.
  • Add a decorative button or attach a small pom-pom for a fun twist.
