Here is my grandson rocking his little aviator earflap crocheted baby hat like he’s got a part in Top Gun

Over the years I was getting asked for slightly larger crochet baby hat patterns.

Especially for boys.
Most were requesting a style just like the aviator style hat, with Earflaps, and of course, easy for those beginning at crochet.

3 sizes of crocheted baby hat with earflaps

This is the perfect little crocheted baby hat if you are a beginner at crocheting baby hats, especially progressing from basic baby beanies and simple crochet baby hat patterns.

Then this earflap hat just a little step up from the easy baby beanie crochet hat pattern, just adding on the ear flaps and a flap at the front, turning it up and you can add  2 buttons to hold the flap in place.

This Aviator hat is crocheted using Double Crochet stitches for the Earflaps (perfect for Photoshoot prop) But use Single crochet for the earflaps to make a good length for the baby to wear.
