Assembling Your Crochet Succulent Plant
Now that you’ve got all your leaves and the center piece crocheted, it’s time to bring it all together. This part is super satisfying—watching those little pieces turn into a lush, realistic succulent.
Step 1: Arrange Your Leaves

Start by laying out your leaves on a flat surface in sizes (L, M, S) . Play around with the placement the leaves until you are happy
- largest leaves go on the outside,
- medium ones in the middle, and the
- small leaves closer to the center.
- The center piece sits right in the middle as the finishing touch.
Step 2: Sew the Leaves Together
Using the long tails you left on each leaf, either USE the long tails OR thread a yarn needle with matching yarn.
Begin by sewing the leaves to each other, by size, and joining each layers into a circle to finish,
Then start laying the circle of leaves on top of each other, starting with the LARGE leaves at the bottom, and attatching medium leaves to the large leaves,
Then continue securing the small leaves to medium leaves. Keeping the stitches neat but secure.
Step 3: Attach the Center Piece
Once the leaves are securely joined, sew the center piece right in the middle.
Step 4: Shape Your Succulent
After sewing everything together, gently shape your succulent by bending upwards the tips of the leaves, or arranging the leaves as you like. Since the leaves aren’t stuffed, they’ll have a nice, natural look—just like real succulents.

Step 5: Display and Enjoy!
Place your finished crochet succulent in a small pot, on your desk, or anywhere you want a touch of greenery without the hassle.
These make excellent sellers at markets and for handmade crochet gifts, (I gave my coworker on to sit on her deask as a secret santa gift and she LOVES it) or to use as crochet house plants that never wilt.
I hope this easy free crochet succulent pattern has inspired you to hook up a little handmade greenery of your own. It’s amazing what you can create with a bit of yarn and creativity, isn’t it?
