Bucket hats are back in a big way! This stylish accessory, reminiscent of the 90s and with a touch of vintage 20s flair, is popping up in fashion magazines and on trendsetters everywhere.

I’m so excited to share this free and easy crochet pattern for a classic bucket hat that you can customize to match your style perfectly.

I was inspired by the resurgence of this iconic hat and wanted to create a version that’s both fashionable and functional.

I chose Red Heart Lisa yarn in a beautiful purple shade that I had leftover from another project. Using two strands held together creates a lovely, sturdy fabric that will help the hat keep its shape.

This makes it perfect for wearing out and about, adding a touch of retro chic to any outfit.

Why this pattern is great:

  • Beginner-Friendly: This pattern uses basic crochet stitches, making it suitable for crocheters of all skill levels.
  • Customizable: The simple design allows for endless customization options. Add a crochet flower, a ribbon, or keep it plain and minimalist โ€“ the choice is yours!
  • On-Trend: Bucket hats are a must-have accessory right now, and this pattern lets you create your own unique version.
  • Free and Easy: This pattern is completely free and easy to follow, so you can start crocheting your new favorite hat today!

  • Yarn: 2 strands of Red Heart Lisa (or similar medium-weight yarn)
