Free Leaf Vine Garland with Flowers & Butterflies Quick & Easy

I was looking for a cute Quick and Easy Crochet Leaf Vine Garland for my sunroom specifically, something to wrap around the metal guides of my new grapevine.

Searching online for bought crochet garlands proved expensive, so I decided to grab my hook and yarn stash to design my own

This pattern is the perfect stash-busting crochet project and can be completed quickly using DK weight yarn and 3.5mm hook.

Supplies You’ll Need for the Crochet Leaf Vine Garland

Crochet Hook : 3.50mm (or Any hook compatible with yarn )

Yarn : DK weight ( or any yarn compatible with hook)

Main Color (Green): Approximately 50 grams or 110 meters for the vine and leaves (adjust based on desired length).

  1. Ch 13. (The FIRST 5 chains are for the Antenna; the remaining 8 ch are for wrapping around the body).
  2. Holding the Antenna chain at the TOP of the RS butterfly, wind the 8 ch section around the butterfly’s body to cinch the center.
  3. Sl st into the 6th ch of the Antenna chain.
  4. Ch 6 to finish and fasten off.
  5. Using the 2 tails of the main color for the Butterfly, fasten around the body/antenna chain.
  6. Neaten up any loose ends, leaving enough yarn for attaching the Butterfly Appliques to the VINE.

  2. Row 1: Sc into the 2nd ch from the hook, HDC in the next 2 chs, DC into the next 2 chs, TrC into the next 2 chs.
  3. Turning Point (Tip): In the last chain, work 5 DC.
  4. You will now be working the remaining stitches back along the opposite side of the chain:
    • TrC into the next 2 chs.
    • DC into the next 2 chs.
    • HDC into the next 2 chs.
    • Sc into the last ch.
  5. Sl st to the beginning st to finish the leaf.
