What you will need to crochet lavender
- Bamboo sticks
- Lavender/ lilac colored yarn (I used a Double knit from Hobby Craft- See DK yarn alternatives HERE *AF )
- Green Yarn
- Glue /Glue gun
- scissors.
- for the ones in the picture, I used a 2.5mm hook

To start. In chosen color
Chain 49
skipping 6 ch stitches, slip stitch back into the 7th chain from the hook (top petal made)
*Ch7, slip stitch into the NEXT chain to join* repeat to 2nd last chain and finish with a slip stitch into the LAST chain space.
Fasten off and Ties ENDS tightly. you can choose to either weave in ends or knot them together tightly as the glue will hold the ends together when fastening the crochet lavender to the bamboo stick.

Assembling the Crochet Lavender
Taking the bamboo/kebab wooden stick,
Place a little bit of glue at the pointed end
With the green yarn start winding the yarn around the kebab stick, evenly and tightly coving the whole stick.

Glue to finish once you reach the end
Cut and ensure the ends are all tidy.
Taking the FIRST TOP petal you made, place a little glue at the bottom of the first petal.

Position all the flowers by twisting them slightly into place, and ensure you are happy with the positioning.
Glue to the LAST bottom bit of the lavender of the flower, and press to the bamboo stick to finish.
How to put the lavender flowers together into a bouquet
I am not going to lie I had a bit of a nightmare trying to make these into a bouquet that looked good enough!
So Im going to show you how I made my bouquet of lavender as I wanted it to go into a small slim box to post to my mother-in-law.
Cut a squared Piece of Brown Paper Big enough to hold all the lavender flowers at the diagonal.
Taking 2 opposite sides start folding one way and then the other as if making a concertina stop before you reach where the flowers will lie.
Using a small piece of tape, stick the 2 sides together where they meet in the middle, and Position your lavender flowers.
Tie a ribbon around to help hide the tape.
