Cat Crochet Pattern FREE

This is a FREE WRITTEN Small Crochet Cat Pattern. The Cat is a quick easy LOW SEW crochet project to make and is perfect for beginners and experienced crocheters alike. 

This is a Delightful Small Crochet Black Cat Pattern that you can easily make for yourself, to add to your craft market stock inventory, or as a gift for someone who loves Cats.

The adorable cat design is a free written crochet pattern and because this is a super fast and easy project you’ll have your cat made in no time. 

I have made the crochet cat as No sew as I could. The Head and Body are crocheted  ALL in ONE piece.  The only bits you need to sew are when attaching the Ears to the Cat. 

What you will need to Crochet the Cat 

I used Aran weight black yarn
and a 3.50mm hook 
2 Saftey Eyes of your choosing 
Needle 
and small amount of Stuffing

Abbreviations- Us terms used

sc – single crochet 
2sctog = DECREACE by working 2 single crochet stitches together 

Cat EARS  (Make 2)

Rnd 1: Ch2, 3sc into the first chain from the hook 
Rnd 2: 2sc into each stitch around (6sts) 
Rnd3: sc in the next st, 2sc into the next st* Repeat from * to * around (9sts) 
Rnd 4 to Rnd 5: sc in each st around (9sts) 

Cat Head and Body – Crocheted in ONE piece) 

Rnd 1: Chain 2, and sc into the first chain from hook, (6sts) 
Rnd 2: 2sc into each stitch around (12sts) 
Rnd 3: *sc in the next st, 2sc into the next st* Repeat from * to * around (18sts) 
Rnd 4: *sc in the next 2 sts, 2sc into the next st* Repeat from * to * around (24sts) 
Rnd 5: *sc in the next 3 sts st, 2sc into the next st* Repeat from * to * around (30sts)
Rnd 6: *sc in the next 4 sts, 2sc into the next st* Repeat from * to * around (36sts)  
Rnd 7 to Rnd 11: sc in each st around (36sts)
(INSERT eyes Between Rows 7 and Row 8 with 5 sts apart)
 
Rnd 12: sc in the next 4 sts, 2sctog (DEC) into the next st* Repeat from * to * around (30sts) 
Rnd13:  sc in the next 3 sts, 2sctog into the next st* Repeat from * to * around (24sts) 
Rnd14:  sc in the next 2 sts, 2sctog into the next st* Repeat from * to * around (18sts) 
Rnd15:  sc in the next st, 2sctog into the next st* Repeat from * to * around (12sts) 
Rnd 16: 2sc into each st around (24sts) 
Rnd 17: sc in each st around 
Rnd 18: sc in next 3sts, 2sc into next each stitch around  (30sts)
Rnd 19 to Rnd 25: Sc into each stitch around 

Add stuffing HERE to shape and fill the cat.

WORKING in the BACK loops only for Rnd 26:  2sctog into the next st, sc into the nxt 3 sts * Repeat from * to * around (24sts) 

Rnd 27:  2sctog into the next st, sc in the next 2 sts* Repeat from * to * around (18sts) 
Rnd 28:  2sctog into the next st, sc in the next st, * Repeat from * to * around (12sts) 
(Make Sure you stuff the Body of the CAT enough, but remember the bottom is supposed to lay FLAT. So do not overfill )
FASTEN OFF leaving a tail long enough to weave around the 12 sts and pull tight to close. 
Weave in end securely 

Attach EARS to the Cats HEAD – I prefer to mark out where I want them to sit, and pin them into place Before Sewing them onto the Cats Head 

TAIL

Rnd1: Ch2, work 3 sc into the first chain from hook 

Rnd 2: Sc in each st around (continue working sc into each stitch around until you have enough to place tail in the position as shown in the Picture
