Begin shaping the first earflap:

Row 7: Work 3 sc in first st, sc across to end. Ch 1, turn. (11 sts)
Row 8: Sc across until last st, 3 sc in last st. Ch 1, turn. (13 sts)
Row 9: 3 sc in first st, sc across. Ch 1, turn. (15 sts)
Row 10: Sc across until last st, 2 sc in last. (16 sts)
Row 11: Sc across. Ch 1, turn. (16 sts)
Row 12: Sc across until last st, 2 sc in last. (17 sts)
Row 13: 2 sc in first st. Ch 1, turn. (18 sts)

Begin decreasing back toward the band width:

Row 25: Sc across. (16 sts)

Continue until this straight section measures 4.5 inches from the marker.
This part wraps around the back of the head.

Begin decreasing the second earflap:

Row 56: 2sc tog in first st. sc in each st across, Ch 1, turn. (17 sts)

Row 60: Sc across until last st, 2 sc tog. (15 sts)

Fasten off.

Seam + Finishing

  • Fold the earwarmer with right sides facing.
  • Sew the short ends together using the back loops only for extra stretch.
  • Turn right side out.
  • Smooth the shaping so the narrower side sits over the baseball cap peak.
