I was looking for some easy Christmas decoration ideas to crochet.
I am a recycling addict. And Whilst looking around my sunroom I saw these old curtain rings.
I had decided to change the curtain style so they were not going to be used but instead of throwing them out, I  kept them thinking I could surely use them for something.
Anything I think I can use again I will keep.

I honestly think this is due to my new outlook in life and the realization during the pandemic of how much I really threw away and decided to go forward in earnest and promised myself I will make a mend and do.

If you do not have curtain rings, you can use wooden craft rings  – A pack of 100 Wooden rings from Amazon

I had planned on using them elsewhere in the house, but even after a wash and scrub, they still looked a bit tatty.

So I got my hook and some yarn and started to cover them by crocheting in a single crochet around the ring. And came up with this cute mini crocheted wreath decoration to hang from the tree.

I just Love crocheting for Christmas and one of my favorite Christmas Crochet Projects is the Christmas Windspinner I crocheted. It is also a FREE crochet pattern on my website

I am making these mini crochet wreath tree decorations and have had so many compliments.
I ended up crocheting several of the mini wreaths for family members,as they are light so make fabulous hanging tree decorations.

I had several sizes to choose from and settled on a 2-inch diameter wooden ring.

You can also BUY 2-inch wooden rings here on Amazon. Wooden Rings for Crafts (2.2 in, 20-Pack)

I have used these to crochet some new festive Christmas decorations.
Using the same basic technique of crocheting around the ring in single crochet.

I have added a short video here to show you how to crochet around a ring.
It really is quite easy once you have the hang of incorporating the ring into the stitching process of the single crochet stitch.
