You will work into the first chain you made. And Once you make the Center of the fower you will create a petal and then repeat

I love adding these flower appliques to crochet hats and crochet headbands. I attach a button to the hat or headband and I can easily change the flowers and colors.

s st = slip stitch
sc = Single Crochet
dc=double crochet
hdc= half double crochet

What you will need to crochet the flower

Yarn: Any to suit your project

Crochet Hook: the bigger the hook/yarn the bigger the flower, you can create all sorts of sizes by mixing up hook and yarn

Easy Crochet Flower Pattern

Chain 4, working the FIRST rnd into the first chain on hook.

Rnd 1: Ch 4 (counts as the first stitch), dc into First chain, ch 1. 2dc, ch 1 into First chain, * Repeat from * to* 4 more times. Join sl st. into the top of chain start  (you will have 5 x2 dcs and 5 x ch1  spaces)

Rnd 2: slipst along to  1st ch1, space. *sc in next ch-1 space. Ch 3 * Repeat from * to * around.
Join with sl st into the first sc

(5, ch-3 spaces made)

Rnd 3: slip along to the 1st, ch3 space: ch 1, counts as first sc. Work: 2 dc, 3tr, 2 dc, sc into same ch-3 space, and into next ch-3 space work * sc, 2dc, 3tr, 2dc, sc *. Repeat * to * around 4 more times to form 5 petals.

Join with sl st into the first chain.

Fasten off, leaving a 12-inch tail to sew onto your project whether it be a hat, headband, sweater, or purse. Or use it for a beautiful crochet wall decoration.
