Crochet BEE LARGE Plush Toy (FREE PATTERN)

The Cutest Easiest Big Bee Crochet Pattern.  This little crochet bee is so adorable, and such an easy crochet project.

FREE CROCHET BEE PATTERN 

I made my friend’s daughter one of these Crochet Plush Bees and when they posted a picture I was inundated for the pattern.  As Always I like to keep the patterns simple and as straightforward as I can. Making this a great beginner amigurumi project.

What you will need to crochet a BEE

I used a 4.50mm hook
Flutterby Yellow and Black Fluffy yarn 
2 large safety eyes for toys.
and a small amount of stuffing. 

NOTES:

  • Work the FIRST YELLOW rounds (BEE HEAD) without slipping to join. moving the marker up one round at a time to mark the FIST stitch of the round.
  • On LAST yellow round slip to join, and then JOIN black yarn! for a smoother Join Seam
  • Slip to join from now on.

Stitches & abbreviations – US TERMS

  • Sc2tog = crochet 2 single crochet together /Decrease.
  • 2SC in nxt st = work 2 single crochet in the next stitch /increase
  • Sc = Single Crochet
  • Hdc = Half Double Crochet
  • Dc = Double Crochet
  • Ss = slip stitch

Crochet BEE Pattern

Yellow to Start Chain 2,

Rnd 1: Work 6 Sc INTO the FIRST Chain on the hook. (place marker here) (6 st)

Rnd2: Work 2sc in Each stitch around, (move marker) (12)

Rnd 3: (Sc, 2sc) around (18)

Rnd 4: (sc in next 2sts, 2sc in next st) Repeat around, (24)

Rnd 5: (sc in next 3sts, 2 sc in next st) Repeat Around (30)

Rnd 6: (sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st) repeat around (36)

Rnd 7: (sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st) repeat around (42)

Rnd 8: sc in each stitch around (42)

Rnd 9: sc in each stitch around, slip st to join(42)

Add safety Eyes (between rnd 4/5 evenly )

Embroider mouth at this time too (SEE Pic for Placement)

CHANGE TO BLACK

Rnd 10: Sc in each stitch around, slip to join (42)

Rnd 11: Sc in each stitch around, slip to join (42)

Change to YELLOW

Rnd 12: Sc in each stitch around, Slip to join (42)

Rnd 13: Sc in each stitch around, Slip to join (42)

Change to BLACK

Rnd 14: Sc in each stitch around (42)

Rnd 15: Sc in each stitch around (42)

Change to YELLOW

Rnd 16: Sc in each stitch around (36)

Rnd 17: Sc in each stitch around (36)

Change to BLACK

Rnd 18: sc in nxt 4 sts, 2sctog, repeat around (30)

Rnd 19: Sc in next 3 sts, 2sctog, repeat around (24)

Rnd 20: Sc in next 3 sts, 2sctog, repeat around (18)

Stuff the body

Rnd 21: Sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog, repeat around (12)

Rnd 22: (2sctog) repeat around (6)

Cut yarn and run end around the outside loops of the last 6 stitches.

pull closed and weave in end.

Wings – MAKE 2 ( I used 2 strands of White Chunky yarn worked together)

Using white and working in the round (do NOT slip to join)

Ch2,

Rnd 1: 6sc into the first chain on hook, (6)

Rnd 2: 2sc in each stitch around (12)

Rnd 3: 2sc in First st, sc in next 5sts, 2sc in next, sc to end (14)

Rnd 4: Sc in each stitch around (14)

Rnd 5: (2sctog, sc in nxt st) repeat around, (9)

Rnd 6: (sc2 tog) repeat around,until 1 stitch remains, slip into to first stitch to finish

Join sides and slip stitch across to close.

REPEAT and make a second wing

SEW the 2 ends of wings together, THEN attach the wing to tin line with the middle of eyes on ROW 13

ANTENNA (2)

Join BLACK yarn to and 6, 2 stitches above the EYES (See Pic for help here)

Chain 4, and thread through the last chain to finish and cut yarn.

Repeat for 2nd.

ENSURE all ends are secure and weave in any stray ends.
